Wedding planning during covid-19
What can I do to plan my wedding during coronavirus?
So many brides around the country have been stuck with uncertainty during this difficult time. It’s pretty scary for all of us in the wedding industry. Many, many brides have unfortunately had to postpone their big day for 2021. I count myself very fortunate that I can fulfil my job as a photographer to all my 2020 brides for next year
But don’t be deterred, there is still lots you can be getting on with when it comes to wedding planning. If you’ve unfortunately had to postpone, see it as a positive, it gives you some extra time to save some money and get something you really wanted but saw as a luxury item. If you’re starting your wedding planning journey it is a great time to get involved with the bridal community on instagram finding out what everyone else is up to and getting some great ideas as well as talking to brides in a similar position to yourselves.
What should I do if my supplier can’t do my new date?
This is a terrible situation to be in for both the couple and the supplier. Unfortunately, of us are booking years in advance. Which makes it much tougher to try and find space in 2021 or 2022. But if your supplier isn’t able to do your new date don’t worry. You still have plenty of time to find a new one, ask your supplier and see if they can recommend anyone. I can tell you for a fact that us wedding photographers are all good friends and doing everything we can to help each other out. Which is a wonderful practice to have in an industry where ultimately, we’re all competing.
When Will Weddings Be Allowed?
We’re still not sure yet, but it does seem like things are easing up some what so fingers crossed weddings later this summer will still be going ahead. Some of my brides have been holding off postponing which has been a bold move, lets hope it pays off for them.
Can I order my wedding decorations online?
Of course you can, some things may take a little longer to arrive but ordering online is a great way of keeping yourself busy with wedding planning and staying excited!
Will My Autumn 2020 Wedding Happen?
It’s currently looking pretty good for weddings in September and October. However, no one can say for certain yet. Check with your venue and see if there are any updates monthly.
Will My Winter 2020 Wedding Happen?
Winter weddings are thought of as a relatively safe bet right now. If the government’s plan is a success and the infection rate continues to drop, it seems likely that winter weddings will happen.
What should I do now to plan my wedding?
Stay positive, stay happy and be excited. You’re still going to get married, it just might take a little longer. It gives you time to work out what is important. I know some of my brides that have postponed have realised a the sticker on their confetti container isn’t important like it once seemed.
Every venue and supplier is doing their upmost to keep in contact with their couples. I’ve been calling my couples for a chat once a month just to see how they are, have a chat and talk about any updates for their weddings. A little goes a long way in a time like this.
Stay strong.
