Picture Perfect
Hey everyone, Megan here again.
You might find it a little odd that I am writing a blog about selecting a photographer; on Joe’s photography website… Well, bear with me! Of course, it would be amazing if you thought Joe was the perfect fit for you but what’s more important is that you (1) know what you’re looking for, (2) like what you see and (3) book for the right price.
Your photographer is going to turn your wedding-day-wonders into a lifetime of memories, so you need to think about how you want it preserved. Follow the three steps below (lights, camera, action! haha).
(1) Think, browse, chat… If you like natural candid shots, go for a documentary photographer. If you like to be posed, book someone who specialises in that. Pssst, if you’re like me and hate every photo of yourself - still get a photographer! Just go for one that acts more as a friend and snaps incognito.
(2) Choose someone whose style suits you and have a chat/meeting with them. The photographer is there with friends and family, so you need to get along with them just like any other person invited – you wouldn’t have a rude/demanding/attention seeking guest!
(3) If you don’t ask, you don’t get. Tell your photographer what you are hoping for and request a bespoke package. Remember, if you’re going for documentary, you can still request a handful of group shots and they won’t kick up a fuss (in fact they tend to be a nice mix of formal and fun!).
#SomethingBorrowed … pick Joe! Ok, I’m biased.
